How to Play:
Each player receives a high roller poker chip and is dealt 5 cards starting with dealer dealing clockwise with person on left getting first card. All cards dealt face down. after the hand is dealt the player to the left has the option of throwing their “high roller” chip in before discarding 0-3 cards. Throwing in the high roller chip means all scores are doubled. That player then elects to discard 0-3 cards in exchange for the same amount. the following player then goes. If the previous player used his high roller chip they have the option of using their high roller chip (which calls their bet) or they may elect to fold. If the player elects to fold before handing in cards they automatically get a +1 for the hole. The maximum bet is 2x the original score during a hole. This continues around the table until everyone has the opportunity to discard. If the high roller chip is not used, each player has one last opportunity to use it. If player folds after this second opportunity they receive a score of +3 for the hole. Note golf is based on the lowest score winning …do not make the mistake of thinking the higher the number the better. example: a pair with a value of -4 is better than a pair with +4.. same rules apply as poker: pair- lowest score on the pair wins (if tie the lowest total score of all cards in hand wins) 3 of a kind- lowest score wins (if tie the lowest total score of all cards in hand wins) 4 of a kind- lowest score wins (if tie…the 5th card decides winner…whoever has the lowest 5th card) flush- lowest score wins straight- lowest score wins (0 may be part of the straight…example -3,-2,-1,0,+1) note: Lady Chip…men can only use this as a +1 and ladies may only use it as a -1 full house- lowest score of all cards wins Tiger Full House- this consists of either 3 lady chips and 2 beer chips or 3 beer chips and 2 lady chips. Tiger Full House beats all other full houses and four of a kind! plus player gets a bonus of -3. royal flush is defined as the top 5 cards…hole in 1(-4), eagle(-3), birdie(-2)or sandy(-2), one putt(-1)or closest to the pin (-1), beer 0 all in same suit. Ladies royal flush is same as above but also may use the lady chip as their -1 card if in same suit. Player gets a bonus of -6. note: even if you have (+4) three of a kind it still beats a (-3) pair…. You still get rewarded for the better hand….if it is a tie whoever has the lowest score of “entire” hand wins. examples: winner of the hand gets -2 on the hole …if high roller chip is used they get -4. losers…of a hand gets get a +2 plus the worst card in their hand…if they have cards valued at -4,-3,-3,0,+2, they would get the +2 plus the +2 for a score +4 for the hole. if high roller chip is used they get (4×2)= +8 if there is a tie both players get -2 on the hole, or -4 if high roller chip was used. *if you lose hand/hole and you used one of your high roller chips…you forfeit it until you win a hand that someone used a high roller chip. If out of high roller chip…and you have a good hand …if others use their high roller chips..you can still play. if you win the hand the others must take the (2x ) loss. You only get “regular” points/strokes since you did not have any high roller chips. However, you now get back one of your high roller chips for winning a hand that other players used a high roller chip. *if you won a hand but no high roller chips were used, you would not get one back. lady chip rules for guys is a negative. lady chip rules for ladies is positive. If a lady is holding it…..she automatically gets -1 taken off her hand, if a guy is left holding it…he gets a +1 on top of his score. ladies holding 2, 3 or 4 of the ladies cards: ladies holding a pair of ladies receive a bonus of -2, guys +2 added ladies holding 3 ladies receive a bonus of -3, guys +3 added ladies holding 4 ladies receive a bonus of -4, guys +4 added wild card rule the wild card has a value of 0 but can be used as any face card to give the player a pair, three of a kind, four of a kind, straight and full house. note the suit on each card. this can be used for a straight flush if the suit matches and the wild card is used as the 0 in a straight. If being used for a pair and another player has the character pair, the other player would win since his pair is not using a wildcard. (for ties the lowest score of the entire hand wins) *feel free to make up your own rule and value for the wildcard! examples of hands from best to good in winning order: beer card value of 0 can be played with a straight -2,-1,0,+1,+2 or as a pair, 3 of a kind, etc.. royal flush- defined as all cards in the same suit with one of each value starting from -4. (-4,-3,-2,-1,0) all in the same suit. winner with this hand would get a bonus of -6. straight flush-defined as all cards in the same suit with one of each value in ascending/descending order. best to worst: -3,-2,-1,0,1 -2 -1,0,1,2 -1, 0,1,2,3 0,1,2,3,4 four of a kind-defined all four cards with the same character *note four hole in ones receive a bonus of -4 four eagles receive a bonus of -3 full house- defined as three cards of the same character with the additional 2 cards of another character tiger full house- this consists of either 3 lady chips and 2 beer chips or 3 beer chips and 2 lady chips. tiger full house beats all other full houses and four of a kind! bonus of -3 straight flush- defined as all 5 cards in same suit in ascending/descending order. flush- defined as all 5 cards in the same suit straight-denfind as cards in any mixed suit with one of each value in ascending/descending order. best to worst: -3,-2,-1,0,1 -2 -1,0,1,2 -1, 0,1,2,3 0,1,2,3,4 three of a kind- defined as all 3 cards with the same character *note three hole in ones receive bonus of -3 three eagles receive bonus of -2 two pair-defined as two cards with the same character and another two cards with a different character pair- defined as two cards with the same character high card is the card in your hand that has the best value. -4 is the best, then -3,-2 so on.
